AWILCO Drilling Co., Ltd. has two semi-submersible drilling platforms WilPhoenix and WilHunter. The two rigs were refurbished at the Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk, Poland. The WilPhoenix drilling depth exceeds 360 meters and is docked at the shipyard's crowded dry dock for renovation. The Polish hoisting and rental company Viatron sent a Grove GTK1100 to participate in the hoisting of WilPhoenix upgrades.
The GTK1100 is designed by Manitowoc engineers for wind turbines and other large height hoisting operations. It will be built on the 450 ton GMK7450 all-terrain crane.
The 80-meter-high five-section telescopic tower and hydraulic chassis combine to lift a load of up to 95 tons to a height of 115 meters with a maximum operating radius of 11 meters.
