Kumho Tire issued statement saying CCTV exposure is inaccurate

Today, Kumho Tire issued a statement saying that CCTV's infringement of Kumho Tire's tires was inaccurate through the simple addition of different rubber compounds to the video. At the 2011 3.15 evening party, CCTV exposed the raw material adulteration of Kumho Tire to replace the original rubber with recycled rubber, which seriously affected the quality of the tires and brought safety risks to the automobiles using its branded tires.

The statement stated that a few hours after the incident, Kumho Tire Tianjin Plant invited the Tianjin Quality Inspection Bureau to inspect the relevant production lines of the factory, and responded to the problems reported in the CCTV 315 video on the spot, saying that “the original film was glued and returned to the rubber. The addition ratio is calculated according to the weight, and it is not an intuitive quantitative ratio. Therefore, simply adding the number of different compounds in the video will determine that the company is operating in violation of the regulations and is not accurate.”

Kumho Tire stated that "it will actively cooperate with the relevant quality inspection departments of the national quality supervision department and believe that in the near future there will be a result that satisfies customer satisfaction and approval."
