Experts: Self-testing PM2.5 is not scientific. Air purifiers are better than none. Although many air purifiers claim to be able to “fight against PM2.5,” is this really the case?

According to a researcher at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, most existing air purifiers that remove inhalable particulate matter are designed to remove large particles of PM10 and are not targeted for smaller PM2.5 particles.

“However, the use of air purifiers is somewhat effective in reducing PM2.5.
