August sales of pure electric commercial vehicles rose by 88.8% year-on-year

According to the latest data from China Automobile Association, in August, sales of new energy vehicles reached 68,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 19.5% and a year-on-year increase of 76.3%; from January to August, new energy vehicles sold a total of 320,000 vehicles, an increase of 30.2% year-on-year.

Among them, in August, the sales of new energy commercial vehicles were 13,000, a growth of 2.9% from the previous quarter and a year-on-year increase of 58.1%; from January to August, cumulative sales of new energy commercial vehicles were 56,000, a year-on-year decrease of 12.4%.

Compared with July, the growth of sales of new energy vehicles in August accelerated, not only achieving a positive quarter-on-quarter increase, but also a year-on-year increase of 20 percentage points over July. Although new energy commercial vehicles also achieved a positive quarter-on-quarter increase, the sequential growth and year-on-year growth were less than the entire new energy vehicle market.

What's so hot about the market performance of pure electric commercial vehicles and plug-in hybrid commercial vehicles?

In August, the sales of pure electric commercial vehicles broke again, which is the third consecutive breakthrough since June. The specific data is that August sales of pure electric commercial vehicles were 12,000, an increase of 4.9% from the previous quarter and a year-on-year increase of 88.8%. From January to August, 50,000 were sold, a year-on-year decrease of 12.4%.

The plug-in hybrid commercial vehicle sold 10,000 vehicles in August, which was equivalent to sales in June and July, a month-on-month decrease of 17% and a year-on-year decrease of 47.4%. In January-August, it sold 0.6 million units, a decrease of 21.6% year-on-year.

From this point of view, purely electric commercial vehicles will play a major role in the growth of sales of new energy commercial vehicles. Although the traditional off-season sales for the commercial vehicle market took place in July and August, pure electric commercial vehicles remain strong and the market recovery is in progress.
