Volvo Construction Equipment Electric Loader wins Quality Innovation Award

The prototype of the HX1 pure electric automatic loading vehicle developed by Volvo Construction Equipment won the annual quality innovation award of the potential innovation category of the Swedish Quality Institute (SIQ). Volvo Construction Equipment will realize its vision for future machines through an ongoing electric vehicle R&D project that is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 95% and total cost of ownership by 25%.

The HX1 concept model is based on the concept of electric traffic and automatic vehicles and is a new way to achieve sustainable development in the future. Today's construction sites and mines generally use some large-scale, multi-functional machines, while the HX1 model reflects the trend of using smaller, more specialized machines. The concept of "from elephant to ant" integrates intelligent machines, automation and electric traffic technology, and is a new way to meet customer needs.

Since 2011, the Swedish Quality Innovation Award has been awarded not only to organizations that have introduced innovative solutions but also to organizations that adopt a systematic approach to meet the specific needs of their customers. The Swedish Quality Institute (SIQ) Annual Quality Innovation Award is one of a series of international awards. Its partners are the Swedish Innovation Agency (Vinnova) and Deloitte Sweden.
