Because natural rubber prices have remained high in recent years, how to make full use of used tire resources in the context of shortage of rubber resources and contribute to the country's energy-saving emission reduction has become a top priority for the development of the industry.

Refurbishment and remanufacturing of used tires, production of waste tire rubber powder, reclaimed rubber or pyrolysis into carbon black, fuel oil, etc., is a new green environmental protection industry that aims to save rubber and other raw materials, reduce energy consumption and reduce environmental pollution. Judging from the current situation, China's waste tire recycling industry still has great potential: First, if the tire is resurfacing according to the wear limit, at least 15 million old tires can be refurbished. Second, if 30% of China's high-grade highways can use rubber powder modified asphalt, the amount of waste tires consumed in a year can reach 400,000 to 500,000 tons; if the tire manufacturers can use a certain amount of powder, plus waterproof With the development of materials, the application of rubber powder is bright. The third is that if 30% of reclaimed rubber turns into rejuvenated rubber, more than 500,000 tons of rubber resources can be saved.

At present, the development of the tire resource recycling industry also faces some obstacles. According to Professor Cheng Yuan of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, in recent years, due to rising oil prices, driven by the huge profits of the market, Shandong, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei and other places have emerged from the use of waste tires by some farmers to engage in soil refining This not only increases the prices of raw materials in the industry, but also seriously pollutes the environment. Secondly, due to the lack of detection equipment, some detection methods are not in place, which has a certain impact on the performance testing of retreaded tires. The key issue is the high price of testing equipment. In addition, the taxation issue is also a problem that has plagued the development of related companies. It is understood that the current domestic companies that recycle used tires not only have to spend money to purchase used tires, but also pay VAT for their products. The developed countries are subsidizing the recycling of used tires. Therefore, the taxation issue has become one of the bottlenecks that constrain the tire industry's recycling industry from becoming bigger and stronger.
