A total of 5,050,500 defective automotive products were recalled, surpassing 5 million vehicles for two consecutive years (removed vehicles in 2013, 5,301,700). A total of 37 recalls were carried out due to the investigation of the defects of the General Administration, involving 3.29 million vehicles, accounting for 65.27% of the total recalls in 2014, an increase of 28.4% compared with 2013. According to the assembly, the number of recalls caused by engine defects in 2014 was the highest, with 2.065 million recalled vehicles in 45 times, accounting for 40.97% of the total number of recalls in 2014. The second and third rankings were triggered by electronic and electrical defects. 56 recalls, 1,670,200 vehicles were recalled, accounting for 33.14%; steering/suspension triggered 9 recalls, and 757,100 vehicles were recalled, accounting for 15.02%.
