From October 9 to October 10, 2011, the second meeting of the working group on the limits of fuel consumption for heavy commercial vehicles was held in Kunming. The meeting discussed and determined the evaluation system and the limits of fuel consumption for heavy commercial vehicles, and formed a draft for the “Limit of Fuel Consumption Limits for Heavy Commercial Vehiclesâ€. It will openly solicit views from all sectors of society in recent days. The meeting also deployed the next phase of launching national standards development work.
In order to do a good job in energy-saving management of heavy-duty commercial vehicles, the scope of industry standards that have been developed in advance is a three-category model with relatively large production and sales volumes, large quantity of fuels, high total fuel consumption, and mature evaluation methods. In the next step, based on the implementation of industry standards, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will organize the National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee to formulate national standards for the fuel consumption of heavy commercial vehicles, and improve the energy-saving standard system for heavy-duty commercial vehicles in China.
