Dr. Hai's ballast water management system uses IMO's recommended "Filter + UV Irradiation + Photocatalytic Oxidation" synergy technology, which is an advanced photooxidation technology (AOT). The core component of AOT is “photocatalytic reactor”, which is a chamber that uses UV irradiation and photocatalytic oxidation to treat ballast water. The design of the ballast water directly determines the processing efficiency and operating energy of the ballast water management system.
To this end, the Institute's technical and resource advantages of military research units, using modern high-performance computing systems (HPC) such as large workstations and fully self-developed flow field and light field coupling calculation software, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation Technology, breakthrough large-scale grid parallel computing method, a large number of simulation comparison experiments on the internal structure layout and parameter optimization of the photocatalytic reactor, flow field and optical field coupling characteristics analysis and optimization, and the use of its self-built pressure The water-carrying performance testing laboratory has carried out a large number of verification tests on the biocidal efficiency and operating energy consumption of the photocatalytic reactor, achieving uniform distribution of the light dose in the photocatalytic reactor, ballast water and photocatalytic nanomaterials. Full contact, and the synergistic catalysis of ultraviolet irradiation and photocatalytic oxidation, finally achieve the goal of low energy consumption and high killing efficiency.
