Recently, Nantui Group Co., Ltd. led by the national 863 project "smart grid key technology research and development (Phase II)" - "large-scale wind power and high-capacity pumped storage energy in the grid joint optimization technology" project through the National Science and Technology Department of the organization's acceptance. Acceptance of expert group listened to the relevant group report, inspected Inner Mongolia Power Dispatching Control Center demonstration project site, agreed that the project passed the inspection.
In the current large-scale development of clean energy such as wind power, supporting a certain percentage of pumped storage power stations has become the industry consensus. This project was completed in 3 years by NARI, Tsinghua University, Three Gorges Corporation, Inner Mongolia Power Company and Three Gorges University. Relying on Hohhot Pumped Storage Power Station, Inner Mongolia Power Grid and large-scale wind power base, the project studied the wind power forecast, the optimal capacity ratio of wind power and pumped storage, wind power and pumped storage combined operation mode, wind power and pumped storage multi-cycle power generation plan Coordination of rolling optimization and real-time control strategy and other key technologies.
Based on the joint operation scheduling and management system, the project can calculate the joint optimal power generation plan of wind power, pumped storage and thermal power units in the next 15 minutes to several hours to realize the global optimum of wind power, pumped storage combined power generation and conventional energy. The project achievements have been applied in the Inner Mongolia Power Grid to reduce the amount of abandoned wind power by 71.2% and to increase the wind power generation capacity in Inner Mongolia Power Grid by about 1 billion kwh for the whole year, resulting in notable economic and social benefits.
