According to the China Automotive Consultation Center, the tire production and production capacity in Asia has always been one of the highest in the world, but only Japan and South Korea have introduced the relevant tire labeling method.


According to statistics, in the first half of 2012, the output of rubber tire tires nationwide reached 420 million, an increase of 8.22% year-on-year. Among them, the output of radial tires reached 207 million, accounting for 49.24% of the country's total output. In June, China produced 83,149,500 rubber tires, an increase of 18.97% over the same period last year. China's production of automobile tires is one third of the world's total, and export trade accounts for about 50% of the total.

Fan Rende, president of the China Rubber Industry Association, pointed out in a recent industry conference that the industrialization of “green tires” is one of the most important tasks for the industry at present and in the future, and is also an important part of China’s rubber industry strategy. At present, tire companies, associations, and governments have all mentioned the industrialization of "green tires" to an important position.


At the forum, Minister of China Automotive Technology Center Hao Hai revealed that China’s development of industry standards for tire “greening” and related mandatory regulations is accelerating. At present, the Ministry of Public Credit has already referred to the issue of “green tires” and relevant aspects of the European Union. A roundtable meeting was held, and in principle, the project for tires was approved.


As a representative of the industry organization, China Tire Industry Association took the lead in organizing the formulation of self-discipline standards for “green tires” products. The standard will refer to the EU Tire Labeling Act and other series of regulations to calibrate the performance indicators of tires. Related detection methods, equipment and facilities are currently being actively improved and advanced.
