In addition, Beijing Beiqi is in cooperation with Hyundai Motor in the field of commercial vehicles.
Wang Shihong, general manager of Beiben Heavy and Rolling Road, said that it plans to sell 40,000 vehicles this year and build a new assembly line with a capacity of 60,000 units. The total production capacity will reach 100,000 by the end of the year.
The cooperation between Hyundai Motors and Beiben Heavy Duty Trucks is the third attempt to enter China's commercial vehicle sector after failing to cooperate with JAC and Guangzhou Automobile Commercial Vehicle. At the end of last year, the two parties signed a preliminary cooperation agreement, proposed to establish a joint venture company, and set the goal of selling 100,000 heavy trucks in China in 2014. Wang Shihong said that Hyundai’s integrated system development capability and management level are places that attract Beiben Heavy Duty Trucks, and it is not ruled out that Bei Ben Heavy Duty Trucks may also cooperate with modern commercial vehicles in terms of product lines.
However, a relevant person in charge of Beiben Heavy Gas stated that the two parties are still in contact. It is too early to discuss the specific investment ratio and the form of investment.
