The indicator of soil nutrient abundance is a correlation form between soil nutrient measurement value and crop yield measured by soil nutrient analyzer. Soil nutrient abundance indicators can be calculated from the ratio of the soil's lack of certain nutrients to the yield obtained when the nutrients are complete. According to China's national recommended standards, the relative content of soil nutrients in 50% is extremely low; 50%-70% is absent, 70%-90% is moderate, and >90% is abundant. The above indicator of soil nutrient abundance is expressed by the relative content of certain nutrients. When the relative content is >90%, it means that the fertilization is not needed, and the nutrients of the soil itself are sufficient to provide the growth needs of the crop.
Soil nutrients include N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S and other 13 elements and organic matter content. Soil nutrients mainly come from soil, followed by atmospheric precipitation and groundwater. The abundance of soil nutrients is directly related to the growth status of crops. Appropriate soil nutrient content can increase the crop yield and appropriately shorten the growth cycle of crops. The proposal of soil nutrient abundance index provides a reference standard for farmer fertilization and agricultural researcher to study agricultural products, positioning the different nutrient content requirements in different situations.
The following table is a preliminary plan passed at the fourth meeting of the Expert Group on Soil Testing and Fertilizing Technology of Fujian Province just concluded, and the indicator of soil nutrient abundance in cultivated land and garden land in Fujian Province is proposed.
