Seed weight is an important indicator of seed vigor. However, if the seed particles are full and full, there will be relatively more nutrients, correspondingly high germination rate, neat germination, and vigorous plant vitality. What is the identification of seed size and particle plumpness? It is a very simple method to determine the size of a type of seed, ie, the degree of fullness, with one thousand grains. The 1000-grain weight measurement requires the help of a seed counting instrument and a precision balance.
The 1000-seed weight refers to the weight of 1000 seeds under certain environmental conditions. The method of determination is to sample 1000 seeds from a sample of a seed sample. Before the sample is sampled, a clean degree analysis is performed on the seed, and the sample is weighed and repeated twice or more. The average value thereof is obtained, and the obtained parameter is 1000-grain weight. During this time, 1000 seeds need to be counted by an electronic automatic counting instrument. Here are some points to note: 1) The requirements for the balance of large and medium particles on the scale are 0.1g, and the seeds below 10g have higher requirements on the balance, and the amount of inductance needs to be 0.01g. Sample mass ≤ 1g, weighed to 4 decimal places; 1-9.99g weighed to 3 decimal places; 10-999.9g weighed to 2 decimal places; 1000g or more weighed to an integer. If the difference between the previous two measurements does not exceed 5%, the weighing can be stopped and the weights of the two samples can be averaged to obtain the 1000-grain weight of the seeds. If the allowable error is exceeded, several grains must be taken again and weighed until two weighings are within the allowable error, and then the 1000-grain weight of the seed is calculated.
