According to foreign media, Pirelli tire company CEO FrancescoGori announced his departure, but did not disclose the reasons for leaving.
The 60-year-old Francesco Gori spent 33 years at Pirelli Tire. Pirelli Tire said that Gori will be subject to a three-year ban on competitive contracts after his departure. The company did not disclose Gori's successor.
Gori is an Italian native who joined Pirelli in 1978 to take charge of the motorcycle tyre business and subsequently held several positions in the company's marketing business.
In 1990, Gori began as the Pirelli Automotive Tire Business Manager. He later served as Director of Product Design and Strategy, Director of Business Development, and other positions. In 1999, he served as Director of Marketing.
In 2001 Gori was appointed general manager of Pirelli Tyre Business and in July 2006 he was promoted to CEO of Pirelli Tyre. From 2006 to 2011, Gori also chaired the European Tire and Rubber Manufacturers Association.
