Shandong Shenchi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. used the 30,000 tons rare earth isoprene rubber industrial production facility built by the independent institute of Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and successfully commissioned the trial on September 13th. As of September 27, the device has been operating smoothly for two weeks. The key indicators of quality, energy consumption and material consumption of rare earth isoprene rubber produced exceed the level of similar products in Russia. This marked that China's large-scale synthetic rubber research and development capabilities have ranked among the top in the world.
According to research personnel from Changchun Institute of Technology, the rare earth isoprene rubber production line has the characteristics of independent research and development of complete sets of production technology, maximum single-line production capacity, lowest energy consumption, energy saving and environmental protection, etc., in China's new synthetic rubber rubber, new technologies, new brands R&D and other aspects have important leading and demonstration roles.
The Changchun Yinghua Institute is one of the earliest units to develop synthetic rubber in China and has strong scientific research accumulation, technology, and talents. Over the years, they have actively cooperated with PetroChina Jinzhou Petrochemical, Dushanzi Petrochemical and Jilin Petrochemical, and have made a series of important advances in the production technology of rare earth-catalyzed synthetic rubber. In order to speed up the industrialization of rare earth isoprene rubber, in March 2011, the institute cooperated with Shandong Shenchi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. to develop a new production technology of 30,000 tons/year rare earth isoprene rubber with a high starting point and high target.
After more than one year of hard work, the project team developed a rare earth catalytic system with high activity, high cis orientation, low cost, relative molecular mass, and controllable distribution, as well as advanced polymerization, coagulation and post-treatment engineering technologies. The complete set of production technology for rare earth isoprene rubber with China's independent intellectual property rights, and the success of a successful trial run at the 10,000-ton production facility, created the shortest construction period for a 10,000-ton isoprene rubber production plant in China, and was the first successful test run.
It is reported that Shenchi Petrochemical intends to use three years or so to achieve a production capacity of 100,000 tons/year rare earth isoprene rubber.
Isoprene rubber is the only synthetic rubber that can replace natural rubber, and can be widely used in rubber products such as tires, tapes, and hoses. Accelerating the realization of the “Chinese design†and “China creation†of isoprene rubber is of great strategic significance in solving the shortage of natural rubber resources in China and significantly increasing China’s international core competitiveness in this field.
