According to foreign media reports, Hexato Composites has become a supplier of Resato International BV, which will supply high-pressure hydrogen storage tank assemblies for the first hydrogen refueling station in The Hague, the Netherlands. As an industry leader in high pressure technology, Resato is working with Shell Kerkhof & Zn to build a new hydrogen refueling station that will provide hydrogenation services to three users every 15 minutes.
The Resato hydrogen refueling station will be one of the largest hydrogen refueling stations in the Netherlands and will take advantage of its ability to compress hydrogen in the mobile sector.
Trond Seth, vice president of the hydrogen business unit, said this was the first hydrogen storage tank Hexato Composites supplied to the hydrogen refueling station. The collaboration demonstrates Hexato Composites' research goals for terrestrial hydrogen storage solutions, and with this delivery of hydrogen storage tanks, Hexato Composites is transforming from a supplier to a system supplier.
Francois Hemmerlin, Resato's hydrogen business development manager, said that the large hydrogen refueling station deployed in The Hague is a big step for the Netherlands towards a green future. The Netherlands is committed to shifting to a non-emissions country, focusing on the development of a hydrogen energy economy. An important advantage of large hydrogen refueling stations is that the time and coverage of hydrogenation will be equal to that of gasoline or diesel filling stations.
The Resato hydrogen refueling station will be officially opened in the summer of 2019.
