Cummins, the world's leading power equipment manufacturer, will introduce a new
4,000-horsepower (2,983 kW) marine high-speed diesel engine, the QSK95 marine high-speed diesel engine , to the commercial marine market
. According to Cummins, the QSK95 marine high-speed diesel engine will be the most powerful high-speed diesel engine for marine propulsion and generator sets. The 15-cylinder QSK95 marine high-speed diesel engine with a displacement of 95 liters can meet the requirements of the US Environmental Protection Agency Tier 4 low emission regulations that came into effect in 2014.
Since the QSK95 high-speed diesel engine has a rated power range of 3,200 hp to 4,000 hp (2,386 kW to 2,983 kW), it can be used with propulsion, auxiliary equipment, generator sets and diesel-electric propulsion. The target markets for QSK95 marine high-speed diesel engines are heavy-duty ships, 24-hour towboats, inland river tows, marine support vessels, passenger carriers, dredgers, short-haul vessels and coastal tankers.
The QSK95 high speed diesel engine meets IMO Tier II and US Environmental Protection Agency Tier 3 emission standards. According to Cummins, the QSK95 high-speed marine diesel engine has the same output power as the previous medium-speed diesel engine, and it also has the advantages of low manufacturing cost, compact installation and particularly high fuel efficiency. As the machine extends the scope and efficiency of the service, it will help to improve economic efficiency. Â Â Â
USB 2.0 provides for a maximum cable length of 5 meters for devices running at Hi Speed (480 Mbit/s). The primary reason for this limit is the maximum allowed round-trip delay of about 1.5 μs. If USB host commands are unanswered by the USB device within the allowed time, the host considers the command lost. When adding USB device response time, delays from the maximum number of hubs added to the delays from connecting cables, the maximum acceptable delay per cable amounts to 26 ns.The USB 2.0 specification requires that cable delay be less than 5.2 ns per meter (192 000 km/s, which is close to the maximum achievable transmission speed for standard copper wire).
