German parts supplier Bosch and Opel have jointly integrated an in-vehicle infotainment system that integrates audio, navigation and communications functions to supply the new Opel Corsa models. The multimedia infotainment system is called "Touch & Connect" and has a 5-inch color display, seven 80-watt loudspeakers, navigation coverage in 28 countries, Bluetooth, iPod and USB interfaces.
When the user uses Bluetooth to connect the infotainment system to the mobile phone, the phone book can be displayed on the system screen. Audio data such as music can be transmitted from the mobile phone to the entertainment system through the Bluetooth function.
The user can control the entertainment system through a touch screen or ordinary buttons. The entertainment system's radio is digitally controlled and suitable for receiving traffic information channels.
